The 2015 FLL Brooklyn Qualifier - Registration Opens - From Susan Hermon

The 2015 FLL Brooklyn Qualifier 

will be held:

Sunday, January 25th, 2015 8:00 am-4:00 pm @ NYU Polytechnic School of Engineering, Brooklyn Campus.

You must participate in a qualifier to be eligible for the citywide competition held at the Jacob Javits Center the weekend of March 13th-14th.

Registration Begins: Nov. 12, 2014 –Jan. 16, 2015
Registration is not complete until the form AND payment has been received.
Registration Fee: $60 per Team
You will be registered in the order in which your payment has been received. Deadline is Jan. 16, 2015

Please see the dates listed below with short descriptions. Each session will in total last an hour. The sessions will be comprised of the content detailed in the description for 30 to 40 mins then this will be followed by 20 to 30 mins of an open questions and answers. Teams will also have the ability to send in suggestions regarding the content that should be presented in the latter sessions.

November 25:

FTC Google Hangouts/Forum

November 19:

This will cover the basics of NXT Lego Brick, Basics of  Sensors and motor programming and also introduce the teams to the FTC problem statement and challenges. 

November  26:

This will introduce the teams to advanced concepts of RobotC  programming like encoders and joystick interface used to model the manual control of the Robot.

December 3:

This will introduce the teams to the challenges and tricks to program the autonomous behavior of the Robot and also introduce the idea of programming the Robot to Read IR beacon values which are used to model the autonomous behavior of the Robot.

December 10:

This will Focus on skill set required to complete the building and programming  of a fully functional ROBOT to participate in FTC, Interfacing and programming the Tetrix parts (Servo controller and DC motor Controller) and also simulate the code on Robot Virtual World.
