Hello,
You
are receiving this email because you have in the past volunteered for
our amazing organization FIRST. We are once again having several
upcoming FLL Borough Qualifiers,
beginning in January 2016 (dates below). We will also be conducting a
series of FLL Judge & Referee trainings , dates will be forthcoming
in another communication next week. In the meanwhile we are in DIRE need
of volunteers for our events and would like
to get the ball rolling with registering volunteers as early as
possible. Would be great to see you all again and also, please
include your friends and family. The more the merrier.
Please
see the event information below, sign up and select an event through
the Volunteer Information Management System (VIMS) and contact me (or
the
volunteer coordinators) if you have any questions or concerns.
I have also included links about the various
FIRST programs below the event information in case you would like to learn more.
Step 1 - Register in VIMS
If you need help, a VIMS User Guide can be found here:
All
of our event volunteers need to register with our national volunteer
database, as everyone needs to be screened through our Youth Protection
Program
(http://www.usfirst.org/ aboutus/youth-protection- program)
Step 2 - Within VIMS, please select an event (or even
multiple events) listed below:

What is NYC
FIRST about?
Our mission is to inspire young people to be science and technology leaders.
NYC
FIRST (http://www.nycfirst.org/), the local affiliate
of US FIRST (http://www.usfirst.org/),
has four programs
where teams are presented with challenges and engineer robots to solve
specific tasks. But it's more than the robot - in addition to the
problem-solving, engineering and technology skills young people develop,
they also hone lifelong capabilities including
self-confidence, communication and leadership.
Our programs:
Jr. FIRST Lego League (Jr.FLL)
(ages 6-9; Grades 1-3)
Past challenges:
